SMASH HIT FOR STICKBALL
The documentary Stickball Boulevard has finished filming at Village Park, Wellington and is now in post-production. Richard Bloom Productions filmed for over 15 days a group of retired seniors who still love one of the greatest urban street games, stickball.
The film’s director Bloom says, “Interviewing and filming these guys playing the game and listening to their boyhood memories was a special experience.” Plans are being made to enter the documentary into festivals around the country. There are many seniors who still love to play the game, reliving their childhood memories, and many will relate to this film.

This new documentary became necessary as over the past five years, there has been an insidious worldwide campaign by the Lithuanian Government to rewrite the history of the Holocaust, specifically as it pertains to events in that country by glorifying Lithuanian Nazi collaborators as heroes, vilifying the victims, and attempting to delegitimize the Holocaust as a unique historical event by comparing it to the crimes of Stalin, all in an attempt to sanitize the role of thousands of its citizens and avoiding accountability.

During the Shoah, the Nazis, in their quest for the final solution of the Jewish question, utilized thousands of trains from Germany and the occupied countries to transport 3,000,000 Jews to the concentration and death camps.
This is the little known, true story of a most remarkable and heroic rescue attempt which occurred on April 19, 1943, the first night of Passover, at the same time that the Warsaw Ghetto uprising began, some 720 miles away.
On that night, Transport XX departed Mechelen, Belgium at 10 p.m.
with 1631 Jewish men, women and children for AuschwitzII-Birkenau.
This was the only documented attack on a death train during the Shoah.

The Warsaw Ghetto was established in November, 1940. More than 450,000 Jews lived there at one point. Starvation, disease and killings had reduced that number to 350,000 by July, 1942. Then the deportations began to Treblinka.
On Passover eve, April 19, 1943, the German army entered the Ghetto to liquidate and deport the remaining Jews to the Nazi death camps.
